Extended Day Kindergarten (EDK) Program

The EDK was developed to provide an extension of the district 62 kindergarten program.

This program is built on a foundation of the Illinois Early Learning Standards that align with the kindergarten state expectations.

This tuition-based program runs in the morning or afternoon. This four hour a day, five-day a week program follows the school district schedule.
Morning and afternoon EDK placement is determined by your child’s home school. A free shuttle bus service is provided to transport your child from their home school to the ELC or from the ELC to your child’s home school.

Morning hours: 9:00am-1:00pm

Afternoon hours: 11:30am-3:30pm

(Early dismissal on Mondays at 3:15pm)

Lunch will take place at the Early Learning Center for both the morning and afternoon class. A hot lunch can be provided, or you may send your child with a home lunch. More information about the District Lunch Program will be provided at Orientation.
