Pyramid Model SEL

The Pyramid Model provides an organized way to promote social emotional development. In the classroom, Pyramid Model feeling charts and cards are used so students can learn the name of their emotions and be able to respond to their feelings as well the feelings of others.When children are able to express feelings using words, challenging behaviors can be replaced with positive communication and expression.

Problem solving cards and stories are also used in the centers and in whole group instruction to support appropriate problem solving strategies, and positive communication. Through the use of these resources, teachers guide students to use appropriate ways to deal with a situation that will prevent feelings of frustration. The Pyramid Model also includes at home resources for our families.

This builds a strong home to school connection for our students.
