The Westerhold Early Learning Center celebrated a wonderful Kindness Night on Thursday, February 12.

It was an evening filled with kindness-themed activities for families to enjoy together.

Students had a blast making their own headbands and friendship bracelets, posing for pictures at a photo booth and decorating a "kindness tree" with paper hearts.

Many children also loved participating in a scavenger hunt to win a special prize!

A huge part of the night’s success was a result of the many WELC staff members who were there to help. They supported every activity and made sure the event ran smoothly for everyone.

One of the highlights was a music and movement session, in which Infant Toddler Specialist Ms. Irene Tripkos led the children in fun dances and read them two stories about Valentine’s Day and kindness.

“It was a great time," said Tripkos. "Children and their families had a chance to socialize with each other and the staff."

To make the night even more special, the Des Plaines Public Library joined the festivities and gave a free book to every child to take home!
